EDREE Exam: Enrolling for UAE Dental Residency Program

The residency programs in the UAE are a 2-3 year, accredited training programs for dentists interested in specializing. The EDREE exam should be attended and passed if you would like to be admitted to a postgraduate training program at the Department of Health (DOH), Dubai Health authority (DHA) or Ministry of Health (MOH), UAE.
All regulatory authorities DOH/HAAD, Dubai Health Authority and Ministry of Health have a unified entrance exam, called the EDREE exam conducted by College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University.

EDREE Exam Format
The format is multiple choice questions (MCQs). There are usually 150 questions to be completed within 3 hours. The difficulty is set at a level of dental knowledge and skills expected of a fresh graduate with at least one year post basic dental training. The exam will test clinical application of dental science, clinical diagnosis and management.
The examination is computer based.

3. Copy of Dental School Graduation Certificate
4. Copy of Dental School Transcript (record of marks attained for each year of medical school)
5. Copy of Internship Certificate
6. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
9. Employment certificates (if applicable)
10. Health License(s) (if applicable)
11. Good standing certificate(s) (if applicable)
12. No objection letter from the current employer (if applicable).

EDREE PASS Score:
Candidates who obtain 55% or above is regarded as "pass".
To be exempted from General dentist exam EDREE score should be 75% and more. For those who do not meet the EDREE score criteria will need to sit the General dentist exam.
- Maximum of three attempts are allowed to pass the exam within one academic year.
- Candidates who have passed residency enterance examination in the previous academic years are granted only one additional opportunity to retake the exam.
- Final year dental students are eligible to attempt the exam.
- The exam results are valid for a maximum duration of 2 years.
